Video: Footwork Five, Mamelodi

Jarrel Mathebula co-founded the Indigenous Dance Academy aka IDA with his partner Neo Sebete to give township kids a chance to have fun, make some money and to widen their horizons.

As well as providing dancers for critically acclaimed music videos, they’ve achieved a lot on the ground: their dancers have saved up enough money for college, or to help build a home for their parents.

Watch Jarell talking through five incredible local dance styles may not have heard of before. Watch out for that Jebla.
